MICAELA PARKER

Micaela earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University and her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Northridge.

At the start of her career, Micaela began working as a therapist at Hive of Hope where she offered low fee counseling services to wide variety of clients ranging from young children to teens, adults, couples, and families. Upon leaving, Micaela was invited to work at the Diagnostic and Counseling Center where she has been supervised by Dr. Bahareh Talei (PSY#21252) gaining valuable clinical insight and narrowing her areas of focus.

Outside of her aforementioned formal training, Micaela gained additional experience in psychological testing at the Diagnostic and Counseling Center where she conducted psychological evaluations for diagnostic purposes, and at Psych Eval Inc. where she evaluated disability patients for cognitive functional assessments.

Previously, Micaela also acted as a Board Director for 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Childhood Matters, where she worked alongside other board members to support In this role, Micaela donated her time to the surrounding Ventura County community hosting public events, leading presentations, and mentoring local high school students in the wellness space.

In her spare time, Micaela is passionate about music believing it offers a therapeutic outlet and provides a deep connection to parts of the soul we can’t otherwise connect to. She can frequently be found attending concerts, singing in the shower (having once performed publicly in her youth), or learning to play guitar.

When she isn’t caring for her clients or nurturing her musical talents, Micaela is often sketching on her iPad offering additional branding and design-based services to other professionals or practices in her field.

FUN FACT

Being one of her favorite bands, Micaela has been to 7 Incubus concerts and tries to attend every tour. Loving music so much, she even named her cat Leo and her dog Zeppelin (one letter short of a legend).
